11/10. 11/11. Power Numbers, and the Power Path.

In Tarot parlance, 11 and 22 are considered "Master Numbers", numerologically more powerful than the 2 or the 4 they would add up to if the digits were combined. From a book I use often, "Numerology; Key To Your Inner Self" by Hans Decoz, here is an explanation of the meaning of 11, the first Master Number: "The 11 is the most intuitive of all numbers. It represents illumination, a channel to the subconscious, insight without rational thought, and sensitivity, nervous energy, shyness and impracticality. The 11 is a dreamer. It has all the aspects of the 2, enhanced and charged with charisma, leadership and inspiration. It is a number with inborn duality, which creates dynamism and inner conflict with its mere presence. It's a number that, when not focused on some goal beyond itself, can be turned inward to create fears and phobias. The 11 walks the edge between greatness and self-destruction. Its potential for growth, stability and personal power lies in its acceptance of intuitive understanding, and of spiritual truths. For the 11, such peace is not found so much in logic, but in faith. It is the psychic's number."  Since what we celebrate on 11./11 is Veteran's Day, we are indeed focusing on that which at one and the same time denotes leadership and self-destruction, i.e., War, and those who fight it, to protect and serve and defend, but who also may be walking the path of self-destruction. And therefore, today's draw will give insight into the personal illumination of those of us who have lived through the events of the past few days in America and worldwide. What is our intuitive insight to assist us in walking with Mastery through our lives to come?

And here we have it! "He is a Sun God, He is a Fun God, Ra! Ra! Ra!" Ra, the dominant God of the Egyptian culture, is said to have created Himself out of nothing. He is the emblem of shining light on the future and walking fearlessly into whatever comes forward, knowing that one's inner resources are more than adequate to cope with whatever Fate hands us. And therefore we know that the intuitive insight of this day is saying to us, "You have untapped resources within yourselves, your families, your communities, your countries. You are more than you think you are. You can DO this. Begin now, and create your Self, create your Reality, and bring Light out of Darkness!"

And so, it seems appropriate to mention yesterday's draw, which of course preceded todays, and which therefore may be seen as a foundation. Yesterday was not a Master Number, but it was a significant number--a 3. This represents, for those of us in Traditional Craft Streams, the "three legs of the cauldron", a motif of change and transformation. And the card?

White Buffalo Woman is a central figure in one of the deepest and most sacred myths of the Lakota and Plains Indians. Here is Rachel Pollock's description of Her significance:

"...a person willing to take responsibility for something greater than herself. She seeks to help the people around her. She may show them how to help themselves. She demonstrates great love and courage as well as dedication. Her virtues include intelligence, for she understands the meaning of things and can explain them to others. A leader, she can inspire others to action. Her beauty comes from within." And that may, and must, describe all of us, moving forward. We are all responsible for many things greater than our Selves, so let's look into the eyes of this figure of compassion, focus, and intention, and let's find those resources within ourselves. We can DO this. And in so doing, we can all, still, yes, in our America and everywhere else, Walk in Beauty!
