Tarot Blog Hop, Yule 2016; Mother-Night Speaks

Blog Before Me                              Master List                     Blog After Me

When they are in the darkness and not certain what to do, children look to their mother for safety, help, and hope. In this card, we see the face of the Great Mother emerging from the darkness and storm of what has passed, and yet her image seems to arise out of the darkness almost as if it were the source of her power.... and, in a sense, it is. She is between darkness and light, she arises out of confusion, and she gazes into the new journey silently, as she shares her own light. I wrote the Charge of the Dark Goddess many years ago to express the nature of the Great Mother in the time of the dark. Here you go.....

Charge of the Dark Goddess

Listen to the words of the Dark Mother, who of old was called
Hecate, Nuit, Morrigan, Banba, Erda, Macha, MotherNight,
Sekhmet, and many other names:

Whenever you seek wisdom, at the time of the Darkening Moon,
come together in love and trust and learn of Me,
who am the Wisest of Crones...Ye who search the mysteries
of the Earth, the secrets of Air and Darkness, of Blood and Fire,
the silence of the uttermost stars, come unto me,
and I shall whisper to you in the depths of midnight.

Ye shall approach Me in silence, and as a sign that ye are free
from fear, your breast you shall bare to My blade...for fear has
no place in My mysteries, and that which you seek of me will
destroy you if you fear it.

For I am the dolmen arch beyond which stretch the mysteries of infinity.
I am the silence before birth and after death.
I am the clouded mirror in which you scry your own soul.
I am mist in the twilight, the vast and starry sky of midnight, shadows on the Moon.

All things come to Me in the end, and yet I am the beginning of all.
I meet you at the crossroads, I lead you through the darkness,
My hand you grasp in the passage between the worlds.

To those that toy with Me am I an instrument of self-destruction,
yet to the true seeker do I bring knowledge beyond mortal comprehension.

Of you shall I demand the utter truth of all that you are,
and in return shall I give you all that you may be, all that I am.

For My wisdom is beyond the Ages, and knowledge of My Secrets
is power over self, over fear, over death.

Nor do I demand aught of you which you cannot give.

For I am the Mother of Mysteries, and as you know Me, so shall you learn to know yourself.

Daily Draw, 11/12: Make Me An Instrument Of Thy Peace

Just got back from choir rehearsal for a performance we are doing at the Parliament of World Spirituality on November 19th. My thoughts on this event align with the energies of help and healing we need to experience following our disastrous Presidential election, and the music we are doing for this performance led directly to the focus of today's daily draw. We are performing the "Prayer of St. Francis", and the first line thereof is "Make me an instrument of thy Peace"...and I know that "thy" in this sentence may be directed towards many intended receivers of this petition, depending on who's saying it. So....the question is....HOW may we become "instruments of peace" and contribute to healing the world as it so sorely needs? Let's find out.....

I promise you, I do this draw completely at random, and I have no idea what card(s) will emerge until I draw them, sight unseen. So, today, I once again realize that Spirit is at work here. How to be an "instrument of peace"? First, light your own fires of Courage and remember that there is nothing which is presented to you by the Universe that you will not have the ability to do, if you simply focus on your inner strength and sally forth to answer the call. Take Courage from your ethics, your inner Spirit, the love and support of those you cherish, and your own intention to make the world a better place, regardless of what is going on outside your door. You can DO this, and you will know how when the time comes. Until then, and at all times, Walk In Beauty!

11/10. 11/11. Power Numbers, and the Power Path.

In Tarot parlance, 11 and 22 are considered "Master Numbers", numerologically more powerful than the 2 or the 4 they would add up to if the digits were combined. From a book I use often, "Numerology; Key To Your Inner Self" by Hans Decoz, here is an explanation of the meaning of 11, the first Master Number: "The 11 is the most intuitive of all numbers. It represents illumination, a channel to the subconscious, insight without rational thought, and sensitivity, nervous energy, shyness and impracticality. The 11 is a dreamer. It has all the aspects of the 2, enhanced and charged with charisma, leadership and inspiration. It is a number with inborn duality, which creates dynamism and inner conflict with its mere presence. It's a number that, when not focused on some goal beyond itself, can be turned inward to create fears and phobias. The 11 walks the edge between greatness and self-destruction. Its potential for growth, stability and personal power lies in its acceptance of intuitive understanding, and of spiritual truths. For the 11, such peace is not found so much in logic, but in faith. It is the psychic's number."  Since what we celebrate on 11./11 is Veteran's Day, we are indeed focusing on that which at one and the same time denotes leadership and self-destruction, i.e., War, and those who fight it, to protect and serve and defend, but who also may be walking the path of self-destruction. And therefore, today's draw will give insight into the personal illumination of those of us who have lived through the events of the past few days in America and worldwide. What is our intuitive insight to assist us in walking with Mastery through our lives to come?

And here we have it! "He is a Sun God, He is a Fun God, Ra! Ra! Ra!" Ra, the dominant God of the Egyptian culture, is said to have created Himself out of nothing. He is the emblem of shining light on the future and walking fearlessly into whatever comes forward, knowing that one's inner resources are more than adequate to cope with whatever Fate hands us. And therefore we know that the intuitive insight of this day is saying to us, "You have untapped resources within yourselves, your families, your communities, your countries. You are more than you think you are. You can DO this. Begin now, and create your Self, create your Reality, and bring Light out of Darkness!"

And so, it seems appropriate to mention yesterday's draw, which of course preceded todays, and which therefore may be seen as a foundation. Yesterday was not a Master Number, but it was a significant number--a 3. This represents, for those of us in Traditional Craft Streams, the "three legs of the cauldron", a motif of change and transformation. And the card?

White Buffalo Woman is a central figure in one of the deepest and most sacred myths of the Lakota and Plains Indians. Here is Rachel Pollock's description of Her significance:

"...a person willing to take responsibility for something greater than herself. She seeks to help the people around her. She may show them how to help themselves. She demonstrates great love and courage as well as dedication. Her virtues include intelligence, for she understands the meaning of things and can explain them to others. A leader, she can inspire others to action. Her beauty comes from within." And that may, and must, describe all of us, moving forward. We are all responsible for many things greater than our Selves, so let's look into the eyes of this figure of compassion, focus, and intention, and let's find those resources within ourselves. We can DO this. And in so doing, we can all, still, yes, in our America and everywhere else, Walk in Beauty!

Daily Draw....Asking the Universe "What the F***, and How Do I Deal?"

No need to say anything about the absolute horror US residents woke up to this morning. We're going to have to gird up our loins, gather our friends and families about us, look deep into our hearts for sustenance, and figure out how we can move forward without letting what is living in the White House make us forget who we are. Here's a couple of clues. Card one--what will be our guide and guardian through this time of the dark? Card two--how can we focus our Selves to create a safe and wholesome refuge for the next four years? Here we go:

Our Guide: We see here the "swiftness" of definite goals, focused power of the Will, dedicated persistence. And--we see this as our only saving grace during the times to come. We can't just sit in the corner and rock and weep. We are who we are. We are strong and powerful and focused and we have our ethics and our goals and our Deep Self, each one of us, who knows our own inner compassion, integrity, and the Soul of our Being. We look for a Guide, a Guardian, and to each of us, the Universe says, "You ARE who you need, right here, right now. You KNOW what is right, you have love, compassion, and determination without needing to fall to the haters and the dividers of society. Be your Self, your True Self, and help one another move swiftly forward. Four years is not forever--take it one day at a time, and focus on your goal and your Being. You can DO this!"

 Card Two; Our Focus

Here is Our Lady Brighid, Goddess of the Three Fires. Fire in the Head--what do you KNOW to be true, to be real, to be necessary? Fire in the Heart--about what are you passionate, dedicated, truly devoted? Fire in the Hands--what can you create, become, sustain, with your actions, your words, your smithcraft, which is your ability to forge what you need in the fire of your own will and dedication. The card is the Universe telling us, "Don't lose your Self. You have not been defeated, but rather called to action. You KNOW, you WILL, you DO. Keep on keeping on, and sustain your Self and the Other with the fires of love, integrity, compassion, and creation. Become who you Are, and know you are not alone.

We live, we breathe, we care, we know. And we will help one another to Walk in Beauty

Daily DrawTimes Two....What Do I Elect To Do?

Today is Election Day USA, and yesterday, Monday November 7th, was the first day of our new "time cycle". as we "Fell Backwards" on Sunday. So....two cards to see, one for Monday, revealing what we have fallen backwards into, and one for today, revealing what we might like to elect to do about it. Here we go...

Monday--Falling Back. Daughter of Cups, (Brighid) reversed.

Our Lady of the Three Flames is standing on her head today. She is telling us that we have to be careful not to fall back into the habit of letting other people "light our fires". Fire in the Head--inspiration. Fire in the Heart--Passion. Fire in the Hands--Creation. They are OURS, ours to know and feel and experience and DO. If we fall into that old habit of looking to other people for inspiration and instruction, all three fires will soon go out. Please, please, turn my Goddess over onto her strong feet and relight your own three Flames!

Tuesday--Election

And here we have it! Simply follow your own three fires, your inspiration, your passion, and your action--and know that if you do what you are inspired to do, and the things about which you are passionate, you cannot fail here!

Old Samhain Speaks--Three Times

Here we are on the day when time changes, and we have experienced the astronomical shift from light to darkness, as well as the journey into the shadow realm of the dead. So it seems fitting that we look to the three legs of the cauldron, and see what transformations await us:

Friday, the journey:
We've seen this guidepost before, a directional focus on our inner map of our lives. It is telling us to look to the realm within, and permit ourselves to decide for ourselves what is to be the focus of our inner exploration of our own needs, desires, directional motivation, and inner destination. Don't let yourself be drawn off your own path. Decide where you're going, and simply move forward.

Saturday, the Veil:
We walk between the realms at this season, and on Old Samhain we are met and accompanied by the Mighty Dead, the Ancestors, those whose Being sources our own and in whose lives we have sought direction and focus. And it is not an easy interaction, since many of those beyond the Veil wish not to be there, and some whom we meet are lost and seeking. So courage is our guiding light, knowing we are intended to assist their journey to learn more about our own. The Wild Hunt is moving, and we are able to interact with those who journey and those who hunt, assisting our own inner walk and lifting us into the Inworlds where we will find our direction.

Sunday: Fall Back:
We use "time" to source the goals of our day, week, month, year, and life. And yet today we have cause to remember that "time" is a human invention, and we are free to, and we do, manipulate it and make it be where and how we want it to be. The truth is, "time" may be a helpful guidepost on our journey, but this card tells us to remember that tomorrow will never come, because it is always NOW. White Buffalo Woman is She who gave to the Native People the meaning of the buffalo as more than food, and showed them not only the many uses that could be made of this sacred gift of food, clothing, and shelter, but also how to mark the changing of the seasons and the move of Time by following the seasonal journey of the buffalo. What she tells to us is that each moment is what we make of it, and that although the journey of our lives is deeply personal, there is that without ourselves to which we must pay attention as we walk our path, since nothing that exists lives alone. We are in this journey with the others of our tribe, and it is our responsibility to live fully in the present and assist where we may, so that each and all of us may use our Time to our own best interest and assist others to do the same--so that we ALL may Walk in Beauty!

Daily Draw, Nov. 3: Playing It By The Numbers

I somehow feel the numerical energy of this day is significant, so this draw was numerically sourced. The numerological value of 11/3/2016 is a 5, so fifth card down in the shuffled deck will have something to tell us. Here goes....
The Empress is the Triple Goddess, the Mother of Life, the divine symbol of the constant renewal of Nature, which is symbolized by the presence of the traditional energies of Land, Sea, and Sky in the picture. She is a symbol of passion, of reverence for life, of motherhood and joy in caregiving, and of the intersection of the powers of the Inner Self with the powers of the Realms of Nature. So, today, my friends, Be the Empress. Take joy in what you love and care about. Interact with Nature and the world around you. Look clearly and watch carefully what is presented to you, and remember you are the doorway to your own success in life. You stand between the realms, always, and what you care about and focus on will become your truth and reality. Walk in Beauty!

Three For the New Year....

Here we have a triage of insights, for Hallowe'en, Samhain, and the Reed Moon. Let's see what the confluence of the Sun, the Moon, the Darkness and the Inner Light have to tell us.

Hallowe'en/Samhain:
This suit represents the rational mind and its ability to discriminate. Swords cut through things in order to pierce illusion, to differentiate between fantasy and reality.
In the image of this Ace, a single upraised sword represents your prime motive or guiding ideal -- the vision that guides you through life's changing fortunes with single-minded clarity. You are thinking clearly and it is necessary to focus on your primary objective and not permit yourself to be distracted from your intent. You journey into Darkness in this season, but within you is the piercing Light of knowledge and the desire to attain a given objective. You are the Light within, so focus and shine!

Reed Moon--Hearth and Home:

The Seven of Stones: Failure

The Reed Moon is representative of Hearth and Home, and every home has some times of mess, chaos, and lack of focus on the family and the benefits of family connection. Anyone who has children and/or a spouse knows how often conflict and argument disrupt the peace of the homestead. This card suggests that there may be in the dark and cold of winter some difficulties to overcome, and that the most important thing to do is focus on the positive impact of connection, love, and peace that can be found within the home. Don't let yourself be discouraged if things sometimes get out of hand. You can bring order out of chaos with the force of love and will.

Into the Dark: The Onset of Winter

The Hermit: Silent Journey

The Hermit is s/he who slips quietly into the Darkness, his/her lantern showing the way down one's own private road. The rune "Ice" and the Hebrew letter for "Hand" represent your ability to walk quietly though the dark which is surrounding you, maintain your inner peace and stability through the cold of winter, and focus only on your inner journey and the places you need to go within your own mind. You are able to take on the cloak of the Hermit and this is the time to focus within and begin to understand the peace and intuitive learning to be found by looking into your own darkness and figuring out what awaits you there.

Walk in Beauty!

Draw of the Day--Dark Moon Dreaming...

Today is the Dark Moon of Reed, the Celtic Tree representing Hearth and Home...so what do the Oracles have to tell us about beginning our journey into the Time of the Dark?
Please, do NOT freak out here. It is time to realize what the "Devil" truly means to one who reads the Omens and walks the Path. At the top are the Hebrew letter Ayin, which is the "Eye" we call the "Third Eye", the one that gazes deep within the Self, and the Rune Eolh, which is the Elk, representing the Horned God and the Wild Hunt which is the seasonal representation of the Dead, the Eternal Path, and the Journey of Souls, and whose sacred nature as the Horned Lord was actually corrupted by the patriarchal church in the Middle Ages into the idea of Satan, lord of evil. The Devil represents the hidden desires, sensuality, psychic awareness, and all the many "private thoughts" we hold sacred, silent, and secret. And this is the definitive meaning of drawing this single card as a daily focus...looking into the Shadow Self, exploring the Dark Within, and remembering that there is nothing innately evil about who we are, but we are only cursed if we do so to our Selves, refusing to explore, examine, and accept or reject, in accordance with our Ethics, what we find on the Shadow Path within the Self. So--today, in the Dark of the Moon, take a good look. What will you keep in the Shadow, because it is silent, sacred, secret and personal? What do you feel it is time to draw into the Light? And what power within the Self will illuminate the Darkness as you travel the Inner Realms. And remember, even in Shadow, Walk in Beauty!

Daily Draw, Saturday--Looking to the Dark

Well, folks, this draw is one that gives us an opportunity to look into the Shadow before we actually enter it...tomorrow, Sunday, is the Dark Moon of Reed in the Celtic Tree Calendar, and the following day, of course, is Samhain, the end of the life of the year and the celebration of many other lives which have ended. So--what do we need in order to make the best journey into the Dark of both Moon and Sun?
And, of course, Spirit speaks straight and clear when we ask. Our card of the day is the Mother of Stones, Spider Woman, a sacred Being from my own home here in Utah. With her we see the sacred labyrinth, represented by, and representative of, the spiderweb, and the weaving of fate. And her energy tells us to focus on the journey, not the destination, to permit ourselves to follow the twists and turns of the labyrinthine road, knowing that the only true Shadow we will find in the Dark is our Sacred Self, and the center of our own labyrinth, which is the meaning of our life journey and the pieces of our own puzzle upon which we should focus. We know we cannot journey wrong, because the journey IS the destination, and we will arrive where and how, and when, and as whom, we are intended to be. So feel safe, journey slowly, pay attention, and walk in beauty!

Draw of the Days--Let's do a Threefer

Offline Wednesday and Thursday dealing with a funeral, so here are the cards I drew but couldn't post. I feel the order they were drawn is also significant in addition to each card's meaning, so we're reading them together:

Wednesday Draw:
Thursday Draw:
Friday Draw:

And so, the ongoing message: Isis is the symbol of the combination of power, passion, and nurturing tenderness. She focuses on the goal she has in mind, but does not neglect those under her care, and walks her own path while giving love and protection to those who walk with her. So she is well able to deal with the idea of "oppression" indicated by the 10 of Rods--and she can do this without descending to the level of yelling and screaming back at those who are attempting to oppress her. Instead, she joins forces with the energies of Kali, whose anger and ability to destroy will kill the very idea of oppression, simultaneously with Kali's nurture and power to give birth to brand-new ideas and ways of dealing with difficult circumstances. So--Keep your eyes on the prize(Isis), and permit no one's oppression to distract you(10 of Wands), knowing that you not only have the strength to persevere but the ability to take an entirely new road to your goal (Kali)

Walk In Beauty, Friends!

Daily Draw, Something Simple This Way Comes

Today's draw is the Nine of Stones, which represents a solid foundation for financial stability, as well as reminding us that our finances are only one part of our material success...notice the background of sea, sky, and the stones themselves representing land, the three elemental energies as seen from a Druidic perspective--we are being cautioned to connect our financial stability with our intentions, our actions, and our interaction with Deity and Spirit, so that financial gain does not become an end in itself but a tool to assist us in creating a more positive and beneficial life for ourselves and those with whom we share our lives.

Tarot Witch: Daily Draw, Here We Go Again!

Well, Peeps, it appears that my issues with Blogger have been corrected, at least for the present...so here we go again, card-a-day guidance from your TarotWitch.

Today--the Moon, in all her radiant glory...but watch out for the Devil peering out from under the light...The Moon represents the Light which comes out of Darkness, the Hidden Self, the parts of our own being which we can't see. The Hebrew letter, Koph, means "back of the head", a part of our own body we can't see without making some adjustments to the mirror. And the representation of the Moon is that we are sometimes prevented from seeing our Selves clearly by our own Shadow, our Distractions (the Devil), and our preconceptions. Moving out of the realm of the Self, we also see the Moon as representing the ways in which certain things offered to us by life and other people may appear to be one thing, but actually represent something else. So--today, watch out for deception, either self-generated or sent by outside forces, and decide to see your Self and your Life clearly, being careful of what may be hidden in the shadows. Have a clear, bright, authentic day, and Walk In Beauty!

Tarot Blog Hop, Mabon 2016: Foodies Guide to the Tarot--Lunch With Mabon and Modron

Previous Blog                                    Master List                              Next Blog

Well, here we have a lovely autumn day, a wee bit of rain, but that's to be expected in the Fall, and a picnic with Mabon and Modron, the God and Goddess of the harvest and the guardians of personal transformation. Mabon, the Emperor, brought fruit salad--see him standing beneath the Tree of Life, which bears apples, grapes, and all kinds of other good autumnal fruits, from some of which he also crafted the mead he brewed for us to sip. He is welcoming us to his beautiful forest, where the autumn leaves are changing, and inviting us to sit and sip some mead and enjoy the fruits of his labors, as well as collecting, surveying, and applying the fruits of our own.

And there with him is our lovely Empress, the great Mother Modron, just coming off the moon-barge that has carried her into the sea where she has caught our fish, crabs, lobsters and all the other delights of our seafood salad to complete the meal. The all-seeing eye and the snake wrapped comfortably around her arm are there to remind us that after we enjoy and digest this autumnal feast, we will also be transformed, in many unique and positive ways, creating our own inner feast of our deep and sacred Self. Use this time of year, and the guidance of the Great Mother, to see within the Self, change the skin while keeping the essence, and become more than one was the prior years. But for now, there's seafood salad, fruit salad, and fresh mead, and the Empress and Emperor to host and entertain us. Let's eat!

Tarot Blog Hop, Lughnassadh 2016: A Union Of Opposites

Blog Before Me           Master List          Blog Following Me

I look at the image on the Emperor card in the Haindl Tarot, and immediately I see opposing energies being displayed, specifically, the contrast between the traditional view of the Emperor and the images Haindl has chosen to use. One sees a naked man standing in front of a rugged-looking tree, holding a ball and a stick or wand, and with a look on his face that seems to say "where do I go now and what do I do?" This is as far as one can get from the traditional image and intent of the Emperor as depicted in more traditional decks, such as Ryder-Waite, those cards showing a king seated in his power and prosperity on his throne, gazing with a look of authority at all who see his robes, his demeanor and the top-of-the-mountain placement of his position. Haindl's Emperor, on the other hand, seems to be looking to Nature and also within his stark-naked and vulnerable Self for guidance as to his next step.

And yet, if one looks deeply into the details of the card, one will see that the intent of Haindl's version of the Emperor is to depict the exact energies we seek out in this Hop, the energy of ability, strength, power and purpose combined with the energy of vulnerability, connection, uncertainty and indecision. In order to interpret this dichotomy, one must look deeply at all the details of the card, so let's do that.

The first thing one notices is the presence of the tree with its overwhelming height and intricately interwoven branches. The tree is the sacred tree Yggdrasil, the world tree of Scandinavian myth, with its roots deep in the mysterious origins of life and its branches reaching up to the stars and beyond. One must know a bit about Scandinavian mythos to be aware that the tree is usually considered to be an Ash tree, which in all the mythos of tree lore from many cultures holds the meaning of "take your Power", and it is easy to see the possibility of Haindl intending that the Emperor seem to be actually emerging from beneath the Tree, having within his grasp both the sceptre of his kingly position and the golden ball denoting the riches of his world. Even in his vulnerability, expressed by his nakedness in the shadow of the World Tree, it does appear that he holds Power and can be seen to be embarking on a journey of complete rulership over his world.

However, if one looks carefully, it is clear that the rod in his hand is the same in its denotation as the one held by, and therefore probably was the one he received from, the Empress. This seems to suggest that his supposed almighty power is drawn both from the energies of the World Tree, i.e. the empowerment of all his foundations, as well as from his connection with the Great Mother, who is also probably, in this deck, the female in his life, his Empress. The gold ball he holds in his other hand symbolizes the material world, the riches of his position...but he is not in his golden, luxurious court and he is not surveying a pile of gold as would a ruling king. No, in this case, the gold is simply potential, and the ball is perhaps something he will journey to achieve, but the riches it may signify are certainly not present in his natural state. This depiction of the Emperor shows him as simply another human being, walking in his true form and natural colors through the domain of the Gods, bringing to bear his own vulnerability as he journeys forth to create his Will (the rod) and seek his destiny (the ball), but in his current state his power and position are potential, not yet realized, and it will be his journey that creates his lordliness. Haindl has successfully depicted the Emperor as the exact opposite of his traditional meaning, not "power over" but "power within", not lordliness over the riches of the world but a simple connection with the riches of existence, and the inner Being denoted by his nakedness expressing his human vulnerability which is a determining factor in his power and position. A union of opposites, indeed!

Daily Draw: What Is My Best Choice?

Today's draw is from the Fairy-Fire Oracle, and it is the Avatar of Ancient Wisdom...telling us that today, at least one situation will come up that we have had to deal with over and over again in many lifetimes. We look back and realize that even though this is a repeated situation, each time it occurs we have to choose slightly differently, depending on the circumstance. So we ask ourselves: Who am I really, and how do I want this to turn out? And then the kicker....what is the lesson here for me? Why do I have to deal with this so repeatedly, and what might I need to do to make this situation stop recurring in my life? Don't worry, friend, the Dragons and the Sidhe are watching out for you, and you KNOW how to do this--after all, you've done it before, yes? So--go for it, and figure out what the Universe is trying to teach you about your Self. If you go with your inner intuition, you can't do it wrong.

June 2016 Tarot Blog Hop: Not Just Junk, But Image-ination!

Blog Before Me                                 Master List                       Blog Following Me

June 2016 Blog Hop....Junk Mail Tarot

Here is a photo sent to me years ago in advertising for the 2002 Winter Olympics held here in Salt Lake City Utah. I used it to create a card for our Maninni Project, and feel that the actual images on the card already represented the tarot meaning even when the photo was supposed to be merely advertising.

This is a photo of the Olympic Torch which still stands today at the gateway of the U of U athletic field. I superimposed it on a photo of the winter flow of Millcreek, and it represents the flame which remains burning even in the time of the dark. The original photo was this view  of the flags set up at the opening ceremony, and a reminder of the beauty of Utah's Snow Season, which "we will now share with the world". In my opinion the concept of the Olympics and the idea of the Ace of Blades are quite congruent, so I figured this card was supposed to happen. For me, blades are fire, the will, the rising of the need from the inner Being to manifest with action as the Sun rises in the sky. The Ace is the beginning of the True Will, as defined "what do I NEED, not WANT, to do?" and therefore the snow and ice, the flux and flow of what is already there and the tempering power of Water on Fire so that one's own Inner Power does not become Power Over, are all manifested in the card. You, too, will have opportunities to kindle the Fire of your own True Will, and will, and may already have, understood the connection between the flame and the flow. Think about it. How has it worked for you? Hope you enjoy the memories.
